简介
表扬美国戏剧界杰出人士的年度奖项。东尼奖是以着名女演员兼导演安朵涅特·佩里（1888～1946）的名字命名（即全名：Antoinette Perry Award），这个一年一度的奖项由美国剧院协会于1947年成立，旨在褒扬于百老汇话剧及音乐剧中表现优异的人士。在美国戏剧届，这个奖项的重要性相当于美国电影届的奥斯卡奖，音乐界的葛莱美奖，电视剧届的艾美奖，或相当于英国戏剧届的奥利弗奖。东尼奖每年颁发一次，奖项由美国戏剧协会（American Theatre Wing）和百老汇联盟（The Broadway League）共同评定及颁发。候选为百老汇製作及演出作品，另有一个奖项颁给其他地区剧院上演的作品。
除了1999年在格什温剧场举行颁奖礼外，从1997年到2010年，纽约无线电城音乐厅成为托尼奖颁奖礼举行地。2011及2012年，颁奖礼在贝肯剧院（Beacon Theatre）举行。2013年，颁奖礼再次回到纽约无线电城音乐厅举行。
