剧情简介
《加州杀手》剧情为了写一本关于连续杀人狂的书，雅痞作家布莱恩·凯瑟（大卫·杜楚尼 David Duchovny 饰）携摄影师女友卡莉（米歇尔·佛贝丝Michelle Forbes 饰）打算以加州为目的地，重走一遍美国着名的杀手路线。途中布莱恩搭载了一对年轻的情侣厄立（布拉德·皮特 Brad Pitt 饰）和爱丽丝（朱丽叶特·刘易斯 Juliette Lewis 饰）以分担昂贵的油费，而卡莉却对这两个邋遢懒散的年轻人始终持有怀疑的态度。果不其然，随着旅途的展开，细心的卡莉通过种种蛛丝马迹发现，这对年轻的情侣并不像看上去的那么简单，他们的身后似乎藏有某些不为人知的秘密。千里昭昭追随杀手的脚步的两人没有发现，真正的杀手正潜伏在他们的身边！
这是一部充分表现美国迷惘青年一代的电影，整部影片充斥着暴力与血腥。电影围绕布莱恩，一位新闻工作者展开，布莱恩以对连环杀手的迷恋，说服他的女朋友，摄影师凯利，採取旅行对加州通过阿肯色和德克萨斯参观着名美国人谋杀站点以便他能写书在主题。他想找人和他们和分享燃料费用，于是刊登广告想找几个同伴。于是失业的前囚犯薛立和他没头脑的少年女朋友爱丽丝角落回应。在途中凯利烦恶他们笨拙，而且过着极度糜烂及垃圾般的生活方式，但男朋友布莱恩坚持认为他们是最佳选择。一路上他们追查了各个犯案现场，就在布莱恩处心积虑推敲出这些杀人狂的动机时，最残暴的杀手原来一直在他身边……
