学习经历

1991—1994，中国科学院研究生院，科技哲学专业，获理学硕士学位。

1997—2003，加拿大滑铁卢大学（University of Waterloo），哲学系，获哲学博士学位。

工作经历

1994—1997，中国科学院研究生院，助教、讲师。

2003—2006，中国科学院研究生院，副教授。

2006年10月起，中山大学逻辑与认知研究所、哲学系，教授，长江学者特聘教授(2008)。

2017年2月起，厦门大学人文学院院长。

学术成就

曾在美国佛罗里达州立大学哲学系、英国伦敦大学UCL认知神经科学研究所做访问学者。2006年入选中山大学“百人计画”引进人才，2008年入选广东省高等学校“千百十工程”第五批省级培养对象，2008年获教育部“长江学者奖励计画”特聘教授。

学术兼职

中国现代外国哲学学会分析哲学专业委员会第二、三届委员、全国科学哲学学会第三届理事会成员，《逻辑学研究》、《自然辩证法通讯》、《中国分析哲学》编委会成员，美国开尔文学院价值与德性项目、武汉大学克雷茨曼研究所（The Norman Kretzmann Institute for Morality and Belief）顾问委员会成员，北京大学阿尔文·普兰廷伽人类价值研究中心（The Alvin Plantinga Center for Human Values）研究员，台湾省阳明大学心智哲学研究所访问教授，中国人民大学现代逻辑与科学技术哲学研究所兼职教授，厦门大学知识论与认知科学研究中心学术委员会成员。

担任过Philosophical Psychology、Philosophy Compass、Philosophia、History and Philosophy of Psychology、Frontiers of Philosophy in China、《中国社会科学》、《现代哲学》、《台湾省大学哲学评论》、《东吴哲学学报》、《中华心理学刊》等国内外期刊以及国际认知科学学会年会的特约审稿人。

主要成果

在Philosophical Studies, Synthese, Canadian Journal of Philosophy, Journal of Consciousness Studies, Consciousness and Cognition, Philosophical Psychology, International Journal for the Psychology of Religion等国际哲学和认知科学期刊发表研究论文和书评20余篇，部分论文被包括美国国家科学院院士和英国皇家学会会员在内的国外学者累计引用达数百次，曾被英、德、法、日、巴西等国的学者选用为研究生课程的阅读材料。

其专着The Conative Mind: Volition and Action于2012年5月由LAP Lambert Academic Publishing (Saarbrücken, Germany)出版。译着《心智：认知科学导论》由上海辞书出版社发行。
